Daniel Doyle – Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland
Daniel is from the festive City of Dublin in Ireland. He studied fine art & sculpture at the Dublin Institute of technology & specialised in ‘kinetic sculpture’. The week he finished his course he was introduced to ‘The Art of Sand’ & has divided his time between film making and sculpture ever since.
Whilst preparing his carve, Daniel listened to Lewis Carrol’s ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’ on his IPod. He wanted to build a picture of a scene in his mind and he chose the scene which involves Alice, the Duchess, the Cook, the baby and the Cheshire Cat. The scene was illustrated in the original novel by John Tenniel and Daniel’s sand sculpture pays homage to that illustration.
