Lee Tetzner

Lee has been sculpting professionally since 1989, producing work for Film, TV, Theme parks, exhibition and Display.

He has spent most of the last 15 years in the world of Animation, making Puppets, Sets and Props for ‘Aardman’, on many projects such as, “Shaun the Sheep”, ”Creature comforts”, “The Pirates, in an adventure with scientists” and lots of TV adverts.

Working in Sand is a big challenge for Lee as it has very different qualities to his usual medium of Clay or Plasticine. Also the very large scale calls for a different mind-set. (The average height of an Animation puppet is around 6 to 10 inches.)

This year Lee has carved two sculptures, the completed Very Hungry Caterpillar and his second work which he is currently still working on.

About Lee

I have been sculpting professionally since 1989, producing work for Film, TV, Theme parks, exhibition and Display.

I have spent most of the last 15 years in the world of Animation, making Puppets, Sets and Props for ‘Aardman’, on many projects such as,
“Shaun the Sheep”
”Creature comforts”
“The Pirates, in an adventure with scientists”
and loads of TV adverts.

Working in Sand is a big challenge for me as it has very different qualities to my usual medium of Clay or Plasticine. Also the very large scale calls for a different mind-set. ( The average height of an Animation puppet is around 6 to 10 inches.)

As a child in the 60’s, watching Thunderbirds on tv was great fuel for the imagination. I loved the puppets and models and FX. It had a unique and original quality and very ambitious for the time.

Last year John created the very popular 'Punch & Judy' as part of the 350th anniversary celebrations of Mr Punch.
